The Infodemics team met this week in Malmo to work together on writing competence statements for digital skills in health and wellbeing media literacy.
The project plans a self assessment tool and training course for young people and a toolkit of resources for youth workers and educators all underpinned by research and case studies from across Europe. Using the DigiComp framework as a baseline the team are writing new skills specific to the needs of young people navigating health information and misinformation in the modern media landscape.
The tagine 'media literacy in a crisis' sums up the group's aims. Seg from project coordinator FSL explains "it's hard enough dealing with the daily barrage of information we get through news and social media, but when there's a crisis such as the Covid19 Pandemic, we all need a more honed skillset to get through it"
